Welcome to our tour of Cambridge especially for prospective undergraduate students.
So, you are thinking of applying to the University of Cambridge. You probably have a million questions: Which College should I apply to? Is it expensive? Will everyone else be terrifyingly brainy? Will there be other people like me?

Well, you are not alone. Everyone who has ever applied to Cambridge felt exactly the same way you do. The good news is that if you have questions, you have come to the right place. The University of Cambridge was built on questions – and the search for answers.

This informal guide is designed to help answer your questions, big and small. You can listen to it now online or you can download it to your iPod or MP3 player for your own guided audio tour around Cambridge.

It is very simple to follow. There are sixteen places to visit along the route, with sixteen corresponding tracks. There is also an illustrated map that you can print out from this website so you know where you are going.

If you can, have a quick look around the Colleges as you go. They are usually more than happy for you to wander around the grounds unless they are closed for exams or other reasons, in which case there might be a notice up. You can always check at the Porters’ Lodge (College reception), explaining that you are a prospective applicant – they will at least be able to give you a prospectus for the College. Colleges are going to be a big part of your student life so it’s worth trying to have a look at a few of them at some point.

Please bear in mind that this tour only offers a ‘taster’ of Cambridge and there are many more Colleges, departments and places of interest within easy reach for you to discover.

We have estimated that the tour will take about two hours to complete. We hope you enjoy it!
